Stowe Township police have charged a McKees Rocks man with beating a U.S. postal worker with a stick on Dec. 31.
The man identified in a criminal complaint as Raheem Jackson, 26, began taunting the victim Ryan Faulk in the 700 block of Broadway Avenue while holding a “stick,” according to police.
A video of the incident obtained by police shows Jackson following Faulk into a building while he is delivering mail. “It appears that Jackson prevents Faulk from exiting the doorway. Once both emerge, Jackson is seen taking a full swing with the ‘stick’ striking Faulk in the head,” the complaint said.
After the alleged assault Jackson is seen on video fleeing the scene, but is approached by police a short time later after he is spotted in front of the Stowe Township Fire Department.
Police alleged that Jackson refused their commands to lay down on the ground and drop the stick he was holding. Jackson then started to swing the stick at police and was TASED and taken into custody.
Faulk was taken to Ohio Valley Hospital and his condition was not released by authorities.
Jackson, who has an extensive criminal past for theft and violent crimes is in the Allegheny County Jail after being unable to post a $25,000 bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 8.
