Allegheny County police say that a teen that was found dead underneath a large grill early Monday morning in North Braddock was shot multiple times.
North Braddock police received a call at 6:45 p.m. Sunday of shots fired in the 700 block of Hawkins Avenue. Witnesses described a person shooting from a white SUV and another person on foot, according to Allegheny County police Lt. Andrew Schurman Police checked the area, but did not find anything at that time, he said.
At approximately 8:40 a.m., a caller phoned 9-1-1 to report a man lying in the grass behind a residence.
Police and paramedics responded and found a male lying underneath a large grill suffering from gunshot wounds, said Schurman. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were able to positively identify him as an 18-year-old from that neighborhood.
Police are continuing to investigate and as of Monday evening no one has been charged in connection with the shooting.
