Allegheny County sheriff’s deputies arrested a McKeesport woman Wednesday who was on probation for child abuse for violating her probation, along with another woman who was wanted by Ohio authorities.
Authorities had been seeking Breanne Jefferson, 28, since August for allegedly violating her probation that stemmed from two prior convictions, authorities said.
A tip led deputies to the Crawford Village housing complex in McKeesport, where they found Crawford inside the apartment of Gina Wright and took her into custody without incident.
Wright, 35, was also arrested on an outstanding warrant from Mahoning County, Ohio, for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office said.
In December 2013, Jefferson stole numerous electronics and jewelry from several homes. Authorities eventually located one of the items at a pawn shop and were able to identify Jefferson as the person who sold it to the store. She plead guilty to receiving stolen property, and was sentenced to probation.
In October 2015, she was charged with aggravated assault, endangering welfare of children and recklessly endangering the welfare of children. Court documents alleged she punched and stomped her child, after he would not stop crying. Jefferson claimed she “blacked out” during the assault.
Both women are currently in the Allegheny County Jail.
