A West Mifflin Area High School teacher pleaded guilty Thursday to sexually assaulting a student several times earlier this year.
Police alleged in a brief criminal complaint that 46-year-old James Horgan, of Upper St. Clair, had sex with a female student on four occasions between February and March in the back of a classroom.
Police interviewed Horgan at his home on April 6, and he admitted to having sex with the girl after school on three or four occasions.
Horgan initially pleaded not guilty to the charges at his arraignment in April.
In exchange for his guilty plea, Horgan was placed on five years probation and is also required to register as a sex offender for the next 25 years.
