The Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office caught up with and arrested a convicted sex offender on Friday after a three year search.
Bryan Bowman, 50, of East Pittsburgh, was convicted in November 2000 of raping a 13-year-old girl in Butler County and was sentenced to 24-60 months in prison and also required to register as a sex offender for life.
According to the sheriff’s office Bowman stopped complying with the requirements to update his address and employment information, as well as reporting to his probation officer in 2015, and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
Bowman was listed as one of the office’s “Top 20 Wanted Fugitives”
Authorities have been searching for Bowman for nearly three months and recently developed information that he was staying at a residence in the 1400 block of Abers Creek Road in Plum Borough. After receiving permission from the homeowner to search the house deputies found Bowman attempting to hide behind a wall in the laundry room.
Bowman was arrested and transported to the Allegheny County Jail where he will remain without bond, until he appears in court on the probation violation charge. Bowman also faces charges of failing to comply with registration requirements.
