A Peters Township couple who was found dead in their home early Sunday died as a result of a murder-suicide according to the Washington County Coroner.
County Coroner Tim Warco ruled Monday that 48-year-old Craig Alan Bryan died as a result of a self-inflicted neck wound and the manner of death is suicide.
His wife, 44-year-old Kelly Bryan’s cause of death was determined to be strangulation and her death was ruled a homicide.
The couple was discovered around 6 a.m. by their two children, a 17-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy who are now being cared for by family members, according to police.
A search of online court records reveals little about a possible motive in the deaths. In 2011 Craig Bryan was charged with simple assault after an argument with his wife. He was released after posting a bond. The charges were later dismissed.
